Who We Are
We are the Massachusetts Consumers’ Coalition, an organization comprised of consumer
advocates and interested consumers that seek to make better the lives of Massachusetts
consumers. The Coalition was established in 1976 by representatives of local, state, and federal
consumer agencies, consumer advocacy organizations, and others who were concerned with
protecting consumers and ensuring fairness in the marketplace.
1. Increase public awareness of consumer issues and consumers’ rights
2. Share information about consumer problems and refer trends involving unfair or deceptive
practices to the appropriate authorities;
3. Enhance the training of consumer protection professionals
4. Promote legislation that strengthens consumers’ rights and to oppose measures that would be
detrimental to consumers.
